Abstract

"Educational Endeavors" piece on Good Will-Hinckley, which sits at the eastern edge of its 2,450-acre campus between Fairfield and Skowhegan and has provided a home and a helping hand for needy boys and girls since it was founded by George W. Hinckley in 1889. It costs about $35,000 a year to keep a student in the program; most of it comes from the Department of Human Services, which also refers most students. The school also receives substantial donations and has a $15 million endowment. With a description of the reception and living processes as well as the educational program at the facility.
