Abstract

Editorial lauding the success of Cub Care and Medicare expansion of children's health insurance in Maine, but noting that many Mainers have health insurance that covers only catastrophic illnesses and are without the financial resources that would allow them the regular medical visits that are key to the prevention of serious illness. Before casting their ballots, voters are urged to demand that all presidential candidates be required to describe their plans for universal access to health care, with details, costs, and responsibilities clearly specified.d
