Abstract

"News & Issues" piece on the two top candidates for the Maine Forest Service director's job. Tom Doak, who has had a long career in the forest service and the Department of Agriculture and was favored by the govenor and industry officials, was tapped for the post over Don Mansius, who has been acting director for several months. Mansius was said to be favored by Ron Lovaglio, the Conservation commissioner, whose department includes the Forest Service.
