Abstract

"Maine Interview" piece with Robert Wolterstorff, 39, director of Portland's Victoria Mansion, a building he agrees is a "money pit" but which he calls "the most important historic house museum with intact interior furnishing and collection of its period in the whole country." The Victorian-era mansion, designed by a German, Gustave Herter, is decorated every Christmas by interior designers invited to showcase their talents.
