Abstract

Roger Pictou of Mars Hill has taken over as head of the 450-member Micmac tribe, and will focus on acquiring tribal lands with the $900,000 in funds that accompanied federal recognition. Mary Philbrook, head of the tribe for the past nine years, will help run the tribal headquarters in Presque Isle.
