Abstract

"Practicum" piece on former Fairfield police chief John [Jean] Pouliot who resigned last September after 25 years on the job. His resignation followed a study of his department's finances, which revealed that he had charged personal items to the town and overspent his budget by $30,000. Pouliot has filed a complaint with the Maine Human Rights Commission, claiming he was forced to resign while suffering an emotional disability: he was distressed by the public censure.
