Abstract

"News & Issues" piece on a controversial legislative bill that requires all Maine school employees, including teachers, to be fingerprinted for criminal background checks. The legislature's Education and Cultural Affairs Committee voted 11-2 last week to keep the existing law in place, but have the state pay the $49 fee. With special focus on the fingerprinting process at Holbrook Elementary School in Holden.
