Abstract

The Maine Department of Marine Resources netted more than 250 shortnose sturgeon from the Androscoggin River as part of a study on the proposed bypass linking Route 1 and Interstate 95 at Brunswick. Concerns were raised that work on the bridge would disrupt the sturgeon, which is on the federal endangered species list, in its breeding efforts.
