Abstract

"News & Issues" piece on some of the worst traffic problems in the state as identified by the Portland Area Comprehensive Transportation Committee. The highest priorities include building a Gorham by-pass, reconfiguring traffic at the Maine Mall, making traffic flow improvements to I-295, and replacing city buses and buying a new ferry serving the islands in Casco Bay. Existing funding sources fall $64 million short of the estimated 10-year price tag of $150 million.
