Abstract
"News" piece on interim school superintendents, who have become hot properties with the high turnover and shortage of administrative talent generally. For two successive years, more than a quarter of the 117 full-time superintendent positions in Maine became vacant. Most districts hire an interim, and they are in such demand they're able to dictate their own terms.
