Abstract

"News" piece on a decoy police cruiser that State Police left parked on the Maine Turnpike in Saco for two weeks in an effort to slow speeders. The empty cruiser was removed last weekend because it had lost its effectiveness and was creating bottlenecks when traffic was sluggish and heavy, according to Lt. Randall Nichols, commander of the troop that patrols the pike. The decoy was part of a crackdown on speeding through the pike-widening construction project.
