Abstract

An article on the burning bush plant (Euonymus alatus), which is invasive and could displace a number of native woodland plants. Escapee plants have been spotted in woods near spots where the plant occurs in landscapes. A lag period often occurs between the time an invasive species is introduced and the time it starts to spread quickly, as has happened in Illinois.
