Abstract

"News" piece on nine battered, wood-frame houses on Bangor's Curve Street, which the city has purchased for $150,000 and plans to demolish in training exercises by the Bangor Fire Department. Tenants, including several families with children, are being forced out into a tight housing market with little help from the city to find new quarters. With special focus on Rose Hahn, 69, her two daughters and six grandchildren, who are being evicted.
