Abstract

Although Gov. Angus King and his judicial screening panel are unwilling to comment on the governor's probable nominee to succeed Chief Justice Daniel Wathen of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court, who has stepped down in order to run for governor, Justice Leigh Slaufley, 47, is most frequently mentioned as the likely nominee. Slaufley has served on the state supreme court since 1997.
