Abstract

"News" piece on a golden eagle that was shot in Alna earlier this month. According to Barbara Donato, a spokeswoman for Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, the eagle will survive but will never fly again. The young male eagle, whose left wing was shattered, is being treated with antibiotics for infection and pain medication. Golden eagles are protected under the state and federal laws, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Special Agent Eric Holmes is heading an investigation into who shot the bird.
