"News" piece on a new $54.5 million transmission line that Bangor Hydro-Electric Co. wants to build through valuable natural areas in northeastern Maine. The staff of the Board of Environmental Protection has completed a 39-page draft order recommending that the project be rejected as too detrimental to wildlife and aquatic species and habitat, and to scenic, aesthetic and recreational resources. Parties in the case have until Jan. 25 to comment, and there could be major changes to the denial order.
