Abstract

"News" piece on LD 1869, a legislative bill that has pitted Central Maine Power Company (CMP) and Verizon against a host of opponents, including the Maine State Bar Association, the Telephone Association of Maine, the Public Utilities Commission (PUC), and Stephen Ward, Maine's public advocate. The bill, which is scheduled for a PUC workshop on Feb. 14, is part of an ongoing effort to allow CMP and other large utilities with complex business dealings to keep information about their costs and their prices away from their customers.
