Abstract

"Practicum" piece on a proposal by the Penobscot Nation and Passamaquoddy Indian Tribe to building a gambling casino in Kittery, noting that Kittery already has over 100 outlet stores that attract 3.5 million visitors each year and contribute $5 million annually in property taxes, and arguing that Kittery residents can't condone the sin of retail avarice and then act offended when more comes knocking.
