"Cover Story" piece on the two-way race for Maine's Republican gubernatorial nomination between former legislators Peter Cianchette, 40, of South Portland and Jim Libby, 41, of Buxton. Cianchette, an executive with Pierce-Atwood Consulting in Portland, is seen as the favorite of the Republican establishment and will run a privately funded campaign. Libby, a high school teacher and former college professor, is attempting to qualify as a Clean Elections candidate. With biographical sketches of both candidates and a brief look at their policy differences.
