Abstract

"News" piece on the U.S. Coast Guard's escort service responsibilities and how they could be affected by the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. There is no word yet on whether the Coast Guard will provide escort service for the annual sailboat race from Mount Desert to Digby, Nova Scotia, which is sponsored by Points East magazine. Fishermen, boaters, marine event planners and drug runners are all wondering what to expect this summer as the Coast Guard adjusts to its bigger security role.
