Camden residents last week voted 1,262-306 against a plan to buy a half-acre lot next to the fire station and convert it into an 88-car parking lot. Much of the controversy surrounding the issue focused on the fact that the lot was zoned residential, and residents were concerned about allowing business to encroach on residential neighborhoods.
