Abstract

"Educational Endeavors" piece on Liberty School in Blue Hill. The alternative school is based on freedom, respect and self-responsibility. School founder Arnold Greenberg started the Deep Run School of Homesteading in Pennsylvania in 1979, and the Liberty School is offering a program based on many of the principles taught at Deep Run. Tuition at the school is $5,335 per year, and 34 of the 39 students have that covered by their towns in lieu of having a high school.
