Profile of Dave Getchell, 68, of Appleton, trails coordinator for the 500-member Georges River Land Trust. Getchell created the nine-mile Georges Highland Path, which starts in South Hope and includes portions of Rockport and Rockland. Getchell plans to add at least 30 miles to the trail over the next few years, extending it as far as Thomaston. Getchell, a native of Bangor, organized the Maine Island Trail with Phil Conkling of the Island Institute.
