Abstract

Details on the December 16 legislative listening session at the Augusta Elks Club. The session was on the dozen forestry bills the Maine Legislature will consider starting in January. The bills to be considered include L.D. 253, which would limit the power of state officials to enter private property; L.D. 1200, which would require a landowner to meet sustainable forestry benchmarks to participate in the tree growth tax program; and L.D. 1518, which would create a forestry roundtable to study forest practices.
