Abstract

At last weekend's GOP State Convention in Augusta, gubernatorial candidate Mary Adams ascended the podium with an Abe Lincoln look-alike, and national karate champion and Maine native Frank Berenyi pretended to take a big stick to Democratic candidate Joseph Brennan. There was little else to enliven the proceedings, as Republican officials have made it clear they aim to stay away from divisive issues in an effort to broaden their party's appeal. Details.
