Abstract
Parents in Solon and Harpswell are among those who have come out against Maine's Common Core of Learning, which is trying to move the state's education system toward classroom performance standards and outcome-based learning. Some of the opposition is coming from conservative Christians and traditionalists, and last month Bill Cripe of the Faith Evangelical Free Church wrote a series of articles attacking outcome-based education as a major threat to the nation's public schools.
