Abstract

The Appalachian Mountain Club, the Conservation Law Foundation, the Natural Resources Council of Maine and the Maine Audubon Society have endorsed the Kenetech Windpower project in the Boundary Mountains, with the condition that the developers set aside for permanent protection other mountains of high value. The four environmental groups, intervenors in the hearings on the proposed windpower project, have included Mount Abraham, Tumbledown Mountain and West and East Kennabago mountains on the list of mountains they want protected.
