Details on last week's annual conference of the Gulf of Maine Council on the Marine Environment, held in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. The council is halfway through its ten-year mission, and some in attendance said that it must look beyond environmental issues such as pollution, habitat protection, marine debris and public health protection to the critical matter of the depletion of the gulf's fisheries.
