Abstract

The Northern Forest Lands Council this week issued "Finding Common Ground," its final report, which contains 37 recommendations aimed at countering land fragmentation, declining public access and poor forest health in the 26-million-acre forest. The recommendations include tax reform, green cerification of forest products and more state efforts to acquire land and create ecological reserves. Details.
