Abstract

Currently, 72 Maine school districts, or 43 percent of the total number, are undergoing some form of restructuring. The Maine Center for Educational Service, the Southern Maine Partnership and the Maine Aspirations Foundation are three organizations working with schools in the state in a collaborative effort to transform Maine schools from the 19th-century industrial model to a 21st-century information-age model.
