Abstract

Researchers at the University of Maine at Orono announced success in bio-engineering a potato plant that produced the active ingredient in Bacillus thuringiensis, a common bacterial insecticide. In a related matter, the reappearance of the potato blight after years of abstinence indicates that the reponsible fungus might be reproducing with other fungi. Details.
