At Skowhegan Fairgrounds, President Eisenhower addressed a crowd of 7,500 persons. Shown leaving the platform following his speech are (left to right) Mrs. Jane Muskie, Governor Edmund S. Muskie, the President, and Senator Margaret Chase Smith. The President later attended a clambake in his honor at Senator Smith’s Skowhegan home.
