Lowell July 7. 1866

To the mayor of Portland.

Please except [sic] this small sum of money which I have been fortunate enough to collect to togather since yesterday noon for the sufferers of Portland. it is but a small sum but I am only a school boy of twelve. You will find below those who gave money for the object.
