Discussion of the newly established Alliance Française du Maine (AFduME), a Portland-based chapter of a French cultural organization which dates back to 1883. Describes how a recent influx of new Mainers from French-speaking African countries has generated new interest in promoting French language and Francophone culture. Details language programs and cultural events sponsored by the organization.
