Abstract

The Maine Department of Corrections bills Medicaid when Medicaid-approved juveniles are in the corrections system. Medicaid reimburses the state Medicaid office for some of the time juvenile caseworkers spend supervising clients, and pays part of the tab for training caseworkers and private consultants who work with juveniles. The corrections department does not offer any health care to juveniles.
