Abstract

Art preview of "The Way Mayne (Maine) Was," a collection of works inspired by the era of Thomas Danforth (1622-1699), a local landowner and forward thinker. The exhibit, which will be presented at Portland's Danforth Gallery from June 17 through September 30, kicks off the "Spirit of the Danforth 300th Celebration," a four-month festival of art and performance in honor of the 300th anniversary of Danforth's death and the gallery's own 10-year anniversary.
