Abstract

The federal Environmental Protection Agency on April 19 released its annual Toxic Release Inventory, and the document shows that Nichols Portland has moved from the fourth to the second largest polluter in Cumberland County. S.D. Warren was the biggest polluter in the county, followed by Nichols Portland, National Semiconductor, Bath Iron Works, Deering Ice Cream, Dielectric Communication, Sabre Corp., Silvex Inc. and Permathene Custom Molded.
