Abstract

Boys sports receive $100 more per student than girls sports in the Portland school system, and School Committee member Pandora LaCasse thinks the inequities should be erased. LaCasse has forwarded a plan to Superintendent Thomas Edwards that contains few specifics but does recommend that Edwards reduce the existing gaps with his 1996 budget proposals.
