Abstract

"City" piece on state represenative Glenn Cummings, D-Portland, and executive director of Portland Partnership, a nonprofit, educational organization. Cummings is a vocal proponent of universal health care in the state Legislature, but he plans to take away the health-care coverage of his 18 part-time employees because the Portland School Committee gave him only $154,000 to cover Portland Partnership's expenses for the upcoming school year, instead of the $204,000 he requested.
