Abstract

Discovery House, a methadone treatment clinic operated by a Rhode Island parent company, is hoping to open in South Portland the second or third week in August. The clinic must still receive approval from the federal Drug Enforcement Agency, but doesn't anticipate any problems in doing so. Clients will pay $70 to $100 per week for treatment, and the clinic expects to serve 100 to 150 people each day.
