Abstract

"City" piece on negotiations between officials at the University of Southern Maine (USM) and Sam's Club in Scarborough. USM would like to lease 200 parking spaces from Sam's, which would offset the loss of about 350 spaces on the already congested Portland campus when construction begins on a new community education center and parking garage. Plans for the satellite lot call for frequent shuttle service between Sam's and the USM's two campuses in Portland and Gorham.
