Abstract

"City" piece on a decision by the Maine Mall's new management company, Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group, to discontinue low-scale shopper incentives such as the "bus and buy program," which allowed shoppers taking a bus to the mall to purchase half-price sticker for a free trip home, and the "purchase plus program," which gave shoppers one point, equal to a dollar, for every $100 they spent, redeemable every six months for a mall gift certificate.
