Abstract

Feature article on the renovation of a farmhouse on the southern shore of Little Deer Isle. In 1985 Jimmy McWilliams and her husband Bruce purchased Harbor Farm that included a nineteenth-century Cape, several outbuildings and a family cemetery. Three generations of McWilliams participated in the redesign planning, each contributing their own ideas. The result is a six-bedroom, traditional farmhouse that combines ideas they'd acquired from homes all over the world.
