Abstract

Profile of Chris Drew, who has worked for thirty years in Baxter State Park, seventeen of them as chief ranger. Drew oversees a staff of sixty, who tend to the park's 85,000 annual visitors. Drew, who knows the park as well as anyone, is best known for his sense of humor and his storytelling ability. He says his greatest achievement at Baxter has been working with Director Buzz Caverly to improve the wilderness experience for visitors.
