Abstract
"Making It in Maine" piece about master modelsmith Rob Eddy, 40, of Camden, who spends thousands of hours turning million dollar yachts into miniatures. His intrique, detailed models cost of tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands, of dollars, and most of them end up in display cases in the owners' offices or homes. Eddy grew up in Camden, the son of a local doctor, and sold his first model for $250 while still a senior in high school. He also does nautically inspired jewelry that helps smooth out the work schedule and cash flow. He views both his models and his jewelry as art, not as craft.
