Abstract

"North by East" piece on students at the 43 Maine schools that have participated in a program sponsored by the Atlantic Salmon Federation's Maine office. Each classroom has watched 300 salmon eggs develop and seen the difficulties of bringing back an endangered species. This month, the student's will toss their salmon into nearby rivers, where with luck, one out of 300 young salmon will return from the ocean as an adult.
