Abstract

"I Remember" piece by Marti Stone, pointing out how different girls' basketball was in her day at Orono High School in the mid-sixties, compared with the time of her mother in the mid-forties and her grandmother in the early 1900s. Her mother and grandmother were allowed to play full-court ball and dribble as they pleased, while in her time, the rules had been changed to allow girls to play only half-court basketball and dribble no more than three times.
