Abstract

A boathouse adjacent to a station-master's house was once part of a Coast Guard facility on Little Diamond Island and was used as a coaling station. Charles G. Moore of Portland transformed the boathouse into a light and open three-season guesthouse with the help of Portland architects Rob Whitten and Will Winkleman. Moore is slowly renovating the station-keeper's residence.
