Abstract

"Dining Down East" piece on Argentinean-born chef Alejandro Rave of Thistles Restaurant in Bangor. His son and restaurant manager, Santiago, says his father can make any dish from anywhere, and his versatility is showcased in the restaurant's international offerings. Alejandro was once a noted tenor in Buenos Aires, and the family is one of artists and travelers. His wife, Maria Rave, teaches Spanish at the University of Maine at Orono.
