Abstract
Two Roads Maine, affiliated with the Chewonki Foundation in Wiscasset, conducts therapeutic camping trips for people at a personal crossroads. David Hyde founded Two Roads in 2000 after he lost his job and was diagnosed with cancer, all within two days. Hyde is helped by his wife, Sarah; his brother, Stephen; and Chewonki guides, who bring experience with hospice, meditation, and the outdoors, respectively. With a description of a trip to Harbor Island, and the two women who were helped by sharing their stories and being in nature.
